30 Sep A Visit to Utah Community Action
Yesterday Utah Community Action was visited by several leaders from around the state who are dedicated to researching and combating intergenerational poverty. Our guests included Mayor Cherie Wood of South Salt Lake, Washington County Commissioner Victor Iverson, Department of Workforce Services Executive Director Jon Pierpont, and Lieutenant Governor Spencer Cox.
Utah Community Action CEO Erin Trenbeath-Murray led a large group of journalists and policy makers on a tour of our South Salt Lake Head Start and Central Kitchen facility. The group discussed the latest DWS report on intergenerational poverty, which you can read here. They also explored the way Utah Community Action is focusing not just on early childhood education, but also on addressing the needs and challenges of adults living in poverty in Utah.
Take a look at some highlights from this visit!
